Knowledge Test

The knowledge test covers the following areas:

Operating Experience Requirements

In addition to the knowledge and flight tests, the pilot must also meet the following operating experience requirements:

• Have at least 250 hours of flight time as a pilot in command in helicopters or gyroplanes
• Have at least 100 hours of cross-country flight time as a pilot in command in helicopters or gyroplanes
• Have at least 25 hours of night flight time as a pilot in command in helicopters or gyroplanes

The operating experience requirements can be met through a combination of flight training and actual flight time.
