- Glider flight instructor responsibilities and limitations

- Glider flight instructor currency requirements
- Glider flight instructor recordkeeping requirements
- Glider flight instructor insurance requirements
- Glider flight instructor professional development requirements
Flight Proficiency
The applicant must demonstrate proficiency in the following flight maneuvers:
- Straight and level flight
- Turns
- Climbs
- Descents
- Stalls
- Spins
- Landings
- Takeoffs
- Emergency procedures
Communication Skills
The applicant must demonstrate effective communication skills in the following areas:
- Verbal communication
- Nonverbal communication
- Written communication
- Communication with students
- Communication with other pilots
- Communication with air traffic control
Preparation for the Flight Instructor Practical Test
The applicant should prepare for the Flight Instructor Practical Test by:
- Studying the FIPTS for Glider
- Practicing the flight maneuvers required for the test
- Developing effective communication skills
- Getting enough rest before the test
- Eating a healthy breakfast before the test
- Dressing appropriately for the weather
- Arriving at the test site early
On the Day of the Flight Instructor Practical Test
On the day of the Flight Instructor Practical Test, the applicant should:
